Yes, they have a perfume Sue, a very distinct one. You can smell it from a long way off and some people are very alergic to the pollen. It's a sweet smell, but not in the way of roses or gardenias etc.
I thought this was Mimosa at first, but I just checked and they seem to be different. It too has a beautful smell. I would love to see an extreme close up of the flowers!
