They are sort of cartoon animals I think. These particular ones were very tame and gentle. There was a young girl just out of the shot hand feeding them grass and they were very very well behaved with her and with each other. Not sure about Alpacas in the wild though.

What it is about alpacas that makes them so comical, so strange, so characterful, so compulsive? I don't know, but I love them!
I think it is eyelashes.. huge, long, batted eyelashes... sigh
