This little blue butterfly is tiny, and I was amazed that my camera managed to capture it. It's sitting on a Rosemary flower, so that gives you some idea of how tiny it is.

Temple of the Four Winds, Castle Howard.

Time for another architectural piece, this time a Temple Folly at Castle Howard in Great Britain. It was Sarah's choice of country this month.

All these interesting textiles from various countries are on display at the Embroiderers Guild here in Melbourne. There are many more on display, but I thought that these would reproduce on the screen better than some of the others.

Another month, and another textile piece based on the architecture of a country chosen by a member of our group. If you remember, last month was Egypt, and I posted a photo of my interpretation of details of 2 different temples, the one in Karnak and the one in Aswan.

This month, the country chosen was France, and Helen chose a photo of the Louvre as an inspirational picture. The textiles are all supposed to be mostly in black and white, which I am finding difficult, but at least I am working with a fairly muted colour scheme. They are only small pieces, 21cm x 10.5cm (A5), and so I have mostly hand stitched them, unusual for me as I usually work with machine stitching.
