This gorgeous flowering tree is a type of brachychiton, sometimes known as an Illawarra Flame tree or Flame Kurrajong. It's growing as a street tree here, and is fairly small, but can grow to 15 m or 50 feet tall.
The flowers appear to be made of crepe paper, but are quite robust.
