After visiting Egypt some years ago, I was determined to work some pieces based on the imagery that I had seen around the country. Here I have shown the Sacred Lotus, both as naturalistic flowers and as a design used by the Ancient Egyptians in their painted walls etc.
At the time that these pieces were worked I was discovering the versatility of Lutradur, the non-woven synthetic fibre that is such fun to work with. These 3 pieces are all worked on Lutradur.
The top 2 pieces feature screen printing and painting and all in all pieces I embroidered by machine and also digitized some of the imagery that I used, especially in the third piece above.
